"Sharing my testimony: Domestic Violence
I truly believe God intended me to see the meeting notes emailed by Kerry. He knew that I needed to forgive completely my dad for his abusing my mother. I thought I had. After watching the movie "The Shack" for the first time there was a scene in the movie that said to me I had not forgiven my father. Ever since I watched the movie the feeling kept coming back to me. I wondered why at this age was I now remembering the abuse so clearly. God knew! He knew I needed to "completely" forgive to get on with my journey with Him. After counseling with Kerry a lot of memories came flushing back... but going out into oblivion after flashing back. After each session the healing was more blessed and I could feel it. Throughout the sessions the Lord blessed me - I happened to be changing the TV remote through channels and twice "The Shack" was on and I was given certain scenes I needed to see again. Wow! That's God! Amazing! I am totally free and have totally/completely forgiven. The feeling of sadness, insecurity, despair, questioning why my mother, those type feelings all gone!! Thank you my loving, heavenly Father in Heaven in the name of Christ Jesus!"
