A Beacon of Hope, (BOH), a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization, founded as Trinity's Learning Resource Center, Inc. (TLRC) in 1999 with a vision to provide direction and training for youth and young adults (8-18 years of age) in the areas of Basic Life Skills, Life Planning & Preparation, and Financial Stewardship Education and Mentorship and Parent Coaching and Education/Workshops; teaching personal development, responsibility, and accountability where youth and parents learn, understand, and are empowered to practice important life skills and principles for successful living and contributing to our communities well being.

Programs provide the necessary skills, attitudes, and habits that lead to success in school, productive employment, strong stable families and communities; thus empowering our youth to become responsible confident youth, while strengthening the socioeconomic conditions of our communities; reducing juvenile delinquency, incarceration, unwanted pregnancy, suicide statistics and community deterioration; PROVIDING HOPE FOR THEIR FUTURE!

In addition, we are connecting graduates 15+ years of age with potential employers through our Youth Employment Mentoring Program, and graduates 16+ years of age can participate in our Entrepreneurial Training Program and Assistance Program, where they learn how to start and manage their own successful businesses.

Our Parent Coaching workshops are providing the empowerment to break the power and cycle of generational relational and debt/credit issues plaguing families today.

Due to the growing need of community resources and governmental budget cuts, as apart of the nonprofit community, in 2009, TLRC established RATA "Raising Awareness & Taking Action." And in collaboration with RATA Partners and Harvest Time Group, TLRC is assisting in providing needy community members and families with emergency resources, and giving a "hand up" through education/mentorship, providing creative strategies in overcoming their financial crisis through financial education, program plans extending into Entrepreneurial Training and Assistance and Leadership Development, by providing a platform to tap into their natural resources within and around them.

As of 2018 the New, Increase, and Shift of expansion becoming "A Beacon of Hope" was successfully accomplished and reaching beyond to meet community needs and establishing sustainability.

Organized to provide assistance and valued resources to community members in need and help them recognize and address their life challenges in a more successful life-changing way. Our goal is to empower youth, individuals, and families through Life Skills Mentoring and Enrichment (for all areas of spirit, soul, and body), Leadership Training and Economic Development, Employment Readiness, Entrepreneurial Training & Assistance, Housing Resources, Community Building, and Community Outreach that transforms our communities, rather than just providing a hand out.
